In a few words
AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Gemini can already search an online store, fill a cart and pay on a person's behalf. Muse, Meta's personal agent, already buys with the person's approval in the United States and other countries, though not yet in Chile. So that this works in any store, Google and Shopify published an open standard, the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), and OpenAI and Stripe another, the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP). Both were designed for the United States and leave out what a sale in Chile needs: the SII tax receipt (boleta or factura), the right of withdrawal, the legal warranty, credit notes and Chilean payment methods.
Comercio IA is an open, free extension of both standards that adds those pieces. Any store, e-commerce platform or AI assistant can use it without asking. It is led by Pintor Project, a Chilean software company, and is open for comment until 30 November 2026.

Press release
Pintor Project publishes Comercio IA, an open extension so AI assistants can sell in Chile with tax receipts, withdrawal rights and local payment methods
The free, open-source proposal takes comments from stores, platforms, payment providers and developers until 30 November 2026.
Santiago, 6 November 2026. Pintor Project, a Chilean software company, has published Comercio IA (comercioia.cl), an open extension of the standards that AI assistants use to buy from online stores on people's behalf. The extension adds what a sale in Chile needs and those standards leave out: the tax receipt (boleta or factura) from Chile's tax service (SII), the right of withdrawal, the legal warranty, credit notes and Chilean payment methods.
Assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude can already search for products, fill a cart and pay. So that they work in any store, Google and Shopify published the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), and OpenAI and Stripe the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP). These are public, free rules that both stores and assistants follow. They were designed for the United States, so they don't ask for a boleta or factura, don't tell the buyer about the right of withdrawal, and don't know Webpay, Mercado Pago, Getnet or Khipu.
Meta has entered this field too. Its personal agent, Muse, already buys with the person's approval in the United States and other countries, though not yet in Chile. Meta also sits on UCP's technical council and, with Sierra, published the Personal Agent Protocol (PAP), which defines how an agent signs in to a store. Comercio IA works alongside those standards and adds the Chilean rules of the sale.
With Comercio IA, the assistant asks for a boleta or factura when it creates the purchase, the buyer receives the legal notices before paying, and the payment goes to the store's own account. The order comes back with the document's folio number and its status at the SII, and every return or withdrawal gets its credit note. An assistant that doesn't know the extension yet keeps working, and the legal notices still reach it.
“Purchases made by AI assistants are coming to Chilean stores. We want them to arrive with a proper tax receipt, with the right of withdrawal and with the payment methods people already use. That's why we published it openly and are asking stores, platforms, payment providers and developers to review it before the stable release,” said Tomás Stevanovic, founder and CEO at Pintor Project.
The current version is an open proposal. Comments are accepted until 30 November 2026 in the public repository github.com/Pintor-Project/comercioia or at contacto@comercioia.cl, and every comment gets an answer. The first stable release is planned for January 2027, once five conditions published on the site are met, including the first real sales with a boleta, a factura and a withdrawal, and a legal review and external validation. Pintor Project is also preparing Synaptik Checkout IA, its commercial product and the extension's reference implementation.
